Title: Charts in Contributor
Post by: davidf on 14 May 2010 10:20:57 AM
Hi,
We are developing a rolling forecast application using Planning and Contributor and are users keep requesting a chart feature on the point of entry/within the internet browser Contributor application.
I believe TM1 9.5 has such a feature in it's Contributor client?
Such a graphical display would add so much value by validating the users entry and viewing trends and seasonality etc.

Could any of the community give me their experience and how they have overcome this issue?
e.g. any alternative to D linking or publishing and then back into Excel say?

Has anyone successfully used the Excel Contributor add-in? Are there any major flaws/issues?

Thanks in advance...
Dave

Hi Dave,

This requirement can be delivered using the following steps:
- Publish and then schedule frequent incremental publish.
- Use Framework Manager Admin extension to create a Cognos 8 BI reporting pack.
- Create your charts or other reports using any of Cognos 8 BI studios (RS, QS, AS).
- Link your reports to your Contributor application. (using cube help text, or application help text, ...etc.).

In this method there will be a latency between the data entered/saved to the application and the data in the reports/charts. The latency will depend on the schedule of incremental publish, which will depend on the size of your applications and capacity of your environment).

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Can you please give more details on the last part "Link your reports to your Contributor application. (using cube help text, or application help text, ...etc.)."

Thanks in advance.
