Hi,
I wanted to know if a user does not have access to Query Studio will he be able to do the following
1. Run a already developed report
2. Drill Through from a Report Studio Report to a Query Studio Report.
If the answers to both the questions above is no, then could you suggest a way in which a user not having access to QS can run that report in any of the above two scenarios.
Hi.
1. - Yes.
2. - Yes.
In both circumstances, the report will be run using the Cognos Viewer, not Query Studio.

MF.
I tried removing the access of one of the users from query studio and asked him to run the report that I had created in QS. Also, to confirm whether query studio access for his id was removed i checked the launch button and could see only Report Studio. However, he was not able to run the report.
Error: You are not allowed to Launch Query Studio.
Pls let me know if there is an alternative way.

Did he get an error? What steps did you take to remove his Query Studio access? What permissions does the user have to the report and/or the folder the report lives in?

Hi,
I agree with your first reply. Yes the user will be able to run the report in both the instances asked by me earlier. I have tested and confirmed this. Only reason the user was not able to run the report and it was giving error was because in the report studio report which had the link to query studio the drill definition action property was set to edit the report.
