Hi all,
I am getting an error while creating a new data source in FM.
The error description is like this::::
" RSV-CM-0004 The current user does not have the capabilities required to execute the 'testDataSourceConnection' operation. Please contact your Administrator."

Can anyone please guide me through this issue. That will be so helpful as I am new to cognos.

Hi,

I Think This Error come while creating the data source connection because , u must have the the privatization of the underling data source. u r administrator must provide the the authorizations to u in order to create the data source connection in framework manager.

Yes - this is an issue caused by the fact that your userid in Cognos 8 does not have the relevant privileges to create/test data sources. You need to contact your Cognos 8 system administrator and request that he/she grant you the relevant privileges to create and test data sources.
