Title: [Solved] Can Analysis studio read a cube built in a RDBMS?
Post by: Blue on 20 Jan 2006 10:57:44 AM
G'day all

Can PowerPlay/Analysis Studio read a cube built by something other than Transformer?Ã,  E.g. If I build a cube in SQL Server using DTS or in an Oracle 10G database using Oracle's tools.

In other words can I through away Transformer if I have another cube building tool available?

Blue,
I have been successful at pointing Series 7 to a MS SQL Analysis built cube for use in PPES.

Given that C8 allows you to build and execute (live) cubes directly against your database (not a point in time cube build anymore), I wouldnt go off and build cubes in Oracle or MS SQL but start new cubes in C8.

Cheers,
