Title: Package/Folder owner
Post by: Cognos8 on 09 Apr 2010 06:12:42 AM
Hi,

In our environment some of packages or folder owner show as None or Unavilable. What does it mean?

I don't think it means anything.  We have quite a few packages and folders that don't have an owner.

From what I've seen, I think an Unknown Owner means the user that is the owner is no longer in the authentication system (deleted out of Active Directory).  If it's None, it was put there automatically such as the standard audit package.

yes unavailable means the former owner has been deleted, if this is on a package it may also cause the report not to run due to do the ownership.  I'd recommend having all Public Folders and packages owned by a system or administration account.
