Title: Black Berry Simulator - CrossTab alignment problem
Post by: sanchoniathon on 24 Feb 2010 09:13:14 PM
Hello,

1- We are executing a report in html format.

2- The report contains 2 crosstabs one on topf of each other in the HEADER and 2 crossTabs in the BODY of the report one on top of the other.

3- We also send the report execution to a recipient list of users that have Black Berry Simulator 8330 installed on their computer. I don't recall for NOW the GoMobile 8 versions.

4- When viewing the reports through the Cognos Viewer, the crossTabs in the header are aligned correctly one on top of the other. Same thing for the 2 crossTabs in the BODY.

5- When viewing the report through the BlackBerry Simulator, the 2 crossTabs in the Header are not aligned correctly. Same thing for the 2 crossTabs in the BODY.

Anyone faced this same problem ?

NOTE: We are using crossTabs with FIXED width size for the columns. I think there is no problem if we don't use fixed width but in our case we need to.

Thanks !

Hi to all,

We are wiating for a HOT FIX from IBM ...

But there is a workaround to this infamous situation:
MAKE SURE THAT EVERYWHERE YOU USE CROSS TABS THAT YOU DISPLAY THE COLUMN HEADERS (EVEN THOUGH YOU DON'T WHANT THEM) OR REPLACE THEM WITH TEXT LIKE UNDERSCORES.

THE IDEA WE FOUND HERE, WAS THAT EVERYWHERE THERE IS NO DATA YOU NEED TO FILL THAT WITH SOMEHTING OR BLACK BERRY GO MOBILE WILL REACT UNSTABLE.  We actually managed to get a report version that is only for the Black Berry and quite beautiful, not perfect but while we receive such a hot fix it will be enough.

Good day !
