Title: Suggested Reading for Understanding BI?
Post by: donb410 on 12 Jan 2006 01:40:55 PM
All - I have a new person taking over my project with close to zero experience in BI and CRN.Ã,  I have little time
to train - I am sure I'll be able to get them started with ReportNet, but the understanding of BI is another problem.Ã,  In your experiences, are there books (or web sites) where you have obtained information that you can recommend to get an understanding of BI?Ã,  Or books/websites you have read that were a waste of time?Ã,  Any help would be most appreciated!

Thanks,

Don

learning a software through book is waste of time according to me ;) Still if u want to give him some books to read give him the material that comes along with the software itself.

Thanks for responding, but the COGNOS software is not the problem, I have the manuals and some time to teach him.  It is the fundamentals of Business Intelligence material I was requesting since I will not have time to teach him that also.

You are in the best position to know what sort of BI knowledge this new person needs.  I am a big fan of Kimball's books:
