Dear Folks,
I am going to appear for COG-112 exam in two weeks time and I have "Cognos Getting Started" guide "wig_cr.pdf" and "Cognos Report Studio Professional Authoring User Guide".
Do you think that I can pass my exam by following the above two books or can you guys provide me the AREAS which I can cover to pass my certification which is offcourse better then covering the entire guide rather specific areas.
Your help will be highly appreciated.

Hi Josh,
Have you attended any of IBM's Report Authoring courses for Cognos 8 Report Studio? The exam is based pretty much around the course content (or at least it used to be back when I took it in the dim and distant past).

No I didnt attend the official course though but I do have the Student Guide Vol 1 & 2 which I got it from a friend of mine who works for IBM. will that be a help or the one you are talking about??

Yes - the student guides will be of help. Which course(s) are they for? Also, it's probably not a good idea to provide any more info about your friend, or he/she may get into trouble with his/her employer for handing out free training materials... :)

thanks MFG :) you are right I appologize..lol well after following both guides can I Pass my paper or what more I can do to pass my exam? oh by the way the paper code is COG-112(BI Author).

the report user guide and event studio is enough and exam is tough man.. prepare well u need lot of hardwork to pass exam...

100% !!! What did you mean by 'Dump' instead of reading the full material ? Are you saying you got the questions before the exam? If that is the case, I wonder how you going to handle the interviews and the actual jobs ??

People are using this site for illegal activities ! Very soon we will have a bunch of 'certified' Cognos 'professionals' who don't know how to write a report and the value of certification will go out of the window !
Why not just post the 'dump' here so that everybody on the planet (and other planets and other universes and solar systems) also get 'certified' ;)

Passing certifications by obtaining a preview of the questions and answers using dumps is not condoned by this forum or by IBM. Forum members who have studied hard and practiced to develop their personal skills to a level where they are able to sit and pass the exams are dismayed and offended by requests to cheat in this way. Please refrain from posting links to or asking for exam questions and answers on this forum. The moderators will take a dim view of posters doing this from now on, and may start taking punitive action for posters who ignore this request.
