Hi All,

I would like to know the steps involved during planning  from 7.3 to 8.4 version.

Thanks

I would install 8.4, then upgrade the Analyst file system, and the upgrade the pad. With that all libraries, macros, system links, applications, rights etc are automatically upgraded. The only thing you need to fix manually are publish containers. This is easy, just one wizard to run in Analyst to upgrade the Analyst file system and one wizard in CAC to upgrade the pad.

One thing I should mention. Do backup your analyst libraries, filesys.ini and all .TAB files in the old 7.3 environment before you upgrade the Analyst file system since the files won't open in 7.3 after they have been upgraded and they may become corrupted during the upgrade
