Is it possible to connect to and query a data source directly through one of the studios or is that only possible through Cognos Connections or Framework Manager?
The reason I ask is this: We only have 5 administrative licenses and have the need for more experienced users to add data sources as well as administrators. Is this a permission we can grant them? If so can they do this through a studio as opposed to Framework Manager or Cognos Connections?
Sorry for the novice question. We recently switched from Business Objects to Cognos and are in the process of installing 8.4.1

Adding data sources is a content administration task, and as such is only legally possible by someone who is licensed as an administrator. It is theoretically possible to grant the relevant admin privileges to non-admin users, but this would then put your company in breach of their license agreement with IBM, so must not be done.
