Title: stil Unable ,
Post by: pooja on 26 Jan 2010 11:50:29 AM
We have recently upgraded to Cognos 8 (on a DB2 database) and I'm really struggling to find an  equivalent function to the 'number-to-string-padded'from v7, equivalent on  Cognos 8

Does anyone know how to do this ??

Thanks

Most members here will be first time Cognos users on C8 I guess, so maybe you need to explain exactly what the C7 function actually did..

edit:

Okay, this looks like the second post on the same subject (by you)
Why oh why   ???

Hmmm,

This appears to be slightly selfish behaviour on your part Pooja.  You first ask a question, then post unhappy faces after a couple of hours when nobody answers.  This forum is not a support desk , it is a self-help community- nobody on here has any obligation to respond within a given deadline, and folks who do respond to questions do so of their own volition and out of a desire to help others. When an answer is proposed, you reject it as being unsuitable without explaining why, or providing details of what you actually want to achieve.  Furthermore, you then post a duplicate thread on the forum asking the same ambiguous question, then announce you have found a solution after all, but decline to share it with the community you previously demanded help from.

Thanks Pooja - no worries.  I guess you must be under a lot of pressure at work.

If you get chance, let us know what soultion you came up with - others may find it helpful in future.

Cheers!
