Title: How to add multiple measures in a combination chart?
Post by: actcognosuser on 22 Jan 2010 08:50:59 AM
How do i add multiple  measures to show on a bar graph?like student count
and professor count based on school location?

legend is the school location...

for location A i should have two bars-student and proffesor count..

similarly for location B,C,D,E.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Drop School Location into the categories, and drop both Student Count and Professor Count into the Series.

Regards,

MF.

Thanks MFGF.I also have a year in the category.

Is it ok to nest the location too?Should i use bar/combination?????

for location 1 , the total count should be stacked on student count.|||ly for locations 2,3,4,5.

It all depends what you want to see in your chart:

If you want a bar for each measure for each location within each year, drop Year into the Category box then drop School Location below year within the Category box.

If you want a bar for each measure for each year within each location, drop year intothe Category box then drop School Location above year within the Category box.

And so on...

Can you advise exactly what layout you are looking for?

If you expand the Additional Options below the input dialog when replying, there should be an Attach field.  I think the max file size is 5Mb.

Hi MFGF,
There are 3 bars .one for each location A, B, C.Each bar has two sections.-One for
student count ,one for total. to make a comparison of student count versus total. Then these 3 bars are repeated
for every year .as in series ..(x axis).I want the location as the series.

Hope i dint make it more complex.!

Hi,

If each location has only one bar, do your measure values (Student Count and Total) stack on top of each other within the bar?

If so, use a Stacked bar chart, drag Year into the category box, drag Location below it into the category box, then drag Student Count and Total into the series.

Regards,

MF.
