Guys,
Have any of you encountered this issue: we have a Manager Button that links to an Analyst Macro. This macro could be set up do run an A-C Link, or a regular D-Link etc.
The issue we have is, very rarely, the Manager Button won't work. If you run the Macro directly from within Analyst then it works fine. Same if you trace the Macro.
Clearly I have checked that the right Macro is being pointed to in the Manager screen.
We are running 8.3.
At the moment, the workaround is to change the Link to just open the Macro and have the User run it manually...so not a train smash, just very irritating.
Anyone else have anything similar...or ideas to resolve?
Thanks!
What I tend to do is put an Message command at the beginning of the macro explaining what the macro is about to do and with an Y/N option to quit if the user so choose to quit. I know that this doesn't directly address your issue but at least if the user doesn't get the message then the user knows that the macro hasn't run.
You mentioned that the macro runs an AC link,.. Might be that on the contributor side there was running some process that blocked data transfer (like reconcile)? is there anything in the planning error log?
