Title: [Solved] Permission to run a report, but not to see the source package
Post by: Ben on 22 Dec 2005 02:58:13 PM
Thanks very much to those responsible for Cognoise.Ã,  It was much needed.

I have a report that I want a group of users to be able to execute, but I do not want them to have access to the package that supports it.Ã,  (I don't even want them to know that the package exists.)

How do I do this?Ã,  If it is in the documentation, I've missed it.

Hi,

You might want to take a look at this post:

Thanks for your reply.

A few minutes ago, we were able to get it right.  Here's how:

1) Put the report in another public folder and gave the user permission to execute it.
2) Changed the user's permissions on the package to "Execute" and "Traverse" (but NOT read).

Simple enough, and seems to work -- though the post on hiding folders seemed to suggest that it wouldn't.
