A service always fail when i start my Cognos Express server. i checked the logs and it shows:
The Informix IDS - cm_ids_svr_custom service hung on starting.
what is the cause of this?
Might be timeout - I think I got that a few times - mine eventually started - unfortunately they don't include a gui mgmt tool for IDX. If you google though, you can find free versions (AGS Server Studio 6.5 is somewhere out on the IBM site - free download - it's one version back from current -- if installing, IDX version is 11.x)
just add this to registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\cm_ids_svr_custom
