I am trying to setup Cognos Express 9 on a VMWare as a development environment. During setup and config, I encountered the error SDK-ERR-0088 The IBM Cognos Express service is currently unavailable . after running the restoreIDS_Samples.bat.
Now, everytime I start Cognos Express, that error appears and I have to manually restart Cognos Express service everytime.
Has anyone encountered this? Why is this happening? How can we resolve this without having to restart the Cognos Express service everytime. This will not be acceptable in production environment.

Rebooted the machine since install? It's not documented but seems CX has problems if you've not rebooting the machine. Otherwise might be timeout issues
