ZirMed, Inc. is seeking to fill a Cognos Developer position within the Information Technology Group of ZirMed in Louisville, KY. This person will work on our BI team and will work closely with business owners and others in IT to support the implementation, use and design of the ZirMed business intelligence reporting environment. They will use their Cognos knowledge and experience to assist ZirMed and its customers in the areas of data mining, analysis and reporting to improve business processes, activities and performance. The Cognos Developer will be responsible for creating and maintaining various report packages and business intelligence dashboard solutions in support of internal and external business requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop predefined and documented reports using both Analysis Studio and Report Studio in a pure C8 environment.
Work closely with other departments to deliver status reports as to the overall progress of deliverables.
Perform gap analysis where needed and communicate effectively with the data warehouse team, business analysis team and others to ensure all data needed to deliver the required reports can be facilitated in a timely manner.
Create Cognos Connection Portal tabs for the delivery of the reports and ensure security is applied.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability to create and use complex SQL or other forms of database query is necessary
Experience with Cognos 8 BI tools: Report Studio, Query Studio , Analysis Studio
Experience creating multi-prompt reports with drill-thru capabilities
Experience with the design and development of charts, graphs and Dashboards
Ability to assess business needs and create requirements documents
Gathering and documenting business requirements with client business users
Ability to prepare design documentation and conducting design reviews
Experience / knowledge working with Relational Databases DB2, SQL server
Ability to understand Composite Keys and relationships
Knowledge of SQL; ability to write ad-hoc queries for report data validation
Experience implementing Cognos Security at report level
Experience in scheduling and monitoring print jobs
Strong verbal and written communications
Strong organizational skills
Can-do attitude
Ability to work self-directed
Systems Analysis background
