Any idea how to migrate IQD files to Cognos8.4

there is bridge for C8.3 so I  think the same for 8.4

.iqd files are just text files, so they don't really need to "migrate" at all.

....in Transformer 8.4, you can use iqds as a datasource the same as always. (I believe you need to select "iqd bridge" when you install transformer)

The "generation" of iqds becomes the more complicated part. You have a few options:

-abandon the "generation" of iqd files, and maintain them in "notepad"
-redo what you've done in Impromptu (to produce iqds) in framework manager, and "externalize" them (as iqds)
-model in framework manager, and "relink" your transformer model to Cognos 8 packages (or reports) instead of iqds.

Personally, I see PowerPlay cubes as a fading technology so I wouldn't bother with the effort of recreating all the iqds.....just make the decision to maintain what you have, then look at another cube technology (i.e. TM1, Analysis Services, etc.)
