I cannot seem to 'update' a cube package in 8.3 Unix. I need to either delete the existing package or rename it (which changes the package assignments for any reports or views against that cube source). The 'overwrite' option is available when publishing the package (which I usually do through the connection set-up in administrator) but doesn't allow you to overwrite it. Any suggestions?

A lot of people will set up scripts to manually lock the old cube, change its name, and then publish the new cube. That sounds like it would work for you here.
