I am trying to create a drill through to a report view with "Action:" set to "view most recent report". Getting msg: "The property 'paths' cannot reference an object of type 'Report View'." I am running on Cognos 8.1. Am I trying to do the impossible?
Why would you want to drill through to a view and not the report itself?
I had to create 30+ report views, one per district. The idea is to allow each district mgr to view his/her own district only. we've created a portal for the district mgrs which, upon logging in, allows them to link to reports for their district only. I was planning to create a link to a Report View if that was possible. If not, I'll have to create a bursted report and link to that.
No Problem

Right, but isn't the drill through report some sort of detail of a row on your report? So if you add a drill-through on the main report then all the views pointing at the report will have the drill through. Or is that not the desired behavior?
Thanks, everyone, for the responses. IBM Support tagged it as an unsupported legacy problem in Cognos BI 8.1. Our shop is in the midst of upgrading to Cognos BI 8.3 so I migrated the report views to our 8.3 server. The drill through to a report view worked there without a hitch. I didn't have to change anything.
