Make sure you have write access to the analyst share, and all files in it.

You can find the location of the analyst share in Contributor Administration.
With the error involved, you need to contact the guy who did the install, and verif access to this share with your account.

Locks and logs will only exist in the share if the installation moved them.  By default, they get created where the filesys.ini is specified.  Without modifications, this is a local directory within the program files folder

Hi,

I'm having the exact same problem as anilkumar described (same error message after providing credentials to log into Analyst). But I don't get it, it's always been working without problems; I was still using Analyst last Friday and I don't think anything was changed in our setup.
I think I do have write access to the Planning share and its files, I don't see my access rights but I could create a text file and make changes to it. Same for the filesys.ini file, I could save a space sign in it (our filesys.ini file is in the bin folder D:\apps\cognos\c8\bin).
Any ideas what else could be wrong and I should check?
Thanks,
