Title: New to Cognos - Looking to Integrate with Custom App
Post by: redcello on 21 Aug 2009 04:57:38 PM
I am writing an e-commerce application and would like to provide some simple graphs to the users.  My company has a full Cognos 8.4 installation up and running, so my first thought was to use it.

I successfully learned how to use parameterized URLs to call reports.  The next logical progression seems to be to build 3-4 reports and embed them in their own iframes in my application.

I'm having a lot of trouble turning off the toolbars (ui.header=false and ui.toolbar=false don't seem to help).  Honestly, I don't even know if this is the right way to realize my goal of creating what for all intensive purposes is a dashboard in my third party application.

Is there a standard way of doing this?

I think you need to change the parameters to cv.header and cv.toolbar.

First of all, thank you for your reply.  I appreciate your time.   :)

Looks like the old parameters were deprecated and I didn't keep up:

I still see a footer at the bottom with a date, time, and page number.  Any ideas how to get rid of that?

Is there a way to control the size of a graph?

those should be part of report (default footer), open report in report studio and remove the footer

yes, click the graph in report studio, in the properties, size & overflow property
