I am asked to analyze some reporting requirements and provide estimation for it, i worked as a report author and don't have much idea about estimation, can some one please suggest me some points that i should consider while providing estimation? Or suggest some estimation matrix?
Like, I should analyse current form of data and match it with required report output, determine if ETL is required for that or not, i should consider how many tables/joins/derivations are required while modelling it in FM, I should consider report formatting and number reports. Etc..
we don't have other people who know cognos BI, so based on this estimates, business will decide how we want to go ahead with cognos(like resourcing etc..)!! so any help will be appreciated..
