Hi,
Quite an elimentary doubt but i wanted to find out if any solution exists
I basically want to open the reports created using report studio ( Cognos 8.1) in One content store in one computer onto another computer currently using Cognos 8.3 which does not share anything with the computer on which the reports are created. I was able to copy the model and publish it by copying the .CPF file from one computer onto another.
But the reports didnt get copied
Can anyone help me and let me know if there exists some physical location in the computer on which the reports were created where the reports reside from where i can copy the reports .
some more description of the problem.....
Can anyone please let me know how to migrate the reports created in One content store into another content store.
I actually have created some reports on a content store in one location and i want to open the reports created in another cognos report studio
The reports were created on SQL 2000 and Cognos 8.1
and I currently using SQL 2000 and Cognos 8.3 on another system altogether not even on the same network
Only possible option for me is
1 ) Somehow get the physical files ( files containing the report details stored in the content store ) onto a Hard Disk
2 ) Open the files somehow from the content store of another system
Any help on this is greatly appreciated
Regards,
Ram.
you can import export reports using
>cognos admin>configuration>content admin> new export
you will get .zip at location ..cognos install../c8/deployment
copy it to another server ..cognos install../c8/deployment
the import reports
if u don't have admin rights... only thing you can do is
copy report in clipboard in report studio from source instance and than
open report from clipboard in RS of destination
or
local save (local save as) report .. if option is enabled and local open.
hi there,
thanks a lot for that information
i shall try that out and will let ya know in case of any issues
Cheers
