Title: Component Version Definitions
Post by: DeclanM on 08 Jul 2009 11:25:22 AM
Hello, Hopefully somebody can help me?

Recently a component was changed which led to a failure of the nightly DW build and differences in rows delivered.

When you right click on a component and select 'Show Source' I notice there is a version and revision number.  I know the whole catalog is contained in a database so I was hoping to be able to construct a sql query that could identify the changes that were made between version and/or revision numbers.

Is this possible or does the old version history just get overwritten with the new changes?

Thanks in advance for any help with this

Declan,

I've done some investigation into this and may be wrong but it appears that the data within the catalog tables are overwritten. It's not so much the version number but the revision number you need to look out for.

If anyone else finds a way to do this I would be interested to know.
