Title: What if Analysis in Cognos Planning
Post by: araryes on 02 Jul 2009 06:17:11 AM
Hi - I broadly understand that the only way to do What If Analysis in Cognos Planning is by having Input Cubes with all the variable factors, keep varying them, and see the result in the Output Cube. Am i right, or is there any other suggestion / recommendation / approach?

you can use contributor cube for the what-ifs.
you can also use Analyst cubes for what-if analysis. i dont think there is any other way to do this by only using planning.

You can use break-back functionality for what-if analysis. For example, change the result of a calculation and see what the impact is on the various elements.
