I wrote an SDK app that finds all the report outputs in a specified folder and adds up their dataSize. The total dataSize of all outputs is 285 GB, but the Content Store DB is *only* 46 GB. Any idea why there's such a large discrepancy?

The outputs are stored in a compressed way in ContentStore. That's the reason why you see a much larger volume when you add up the content of the property dataSize.
