Title: cpf file is missing
Post by: Mpotla on 20 Jun 2009 02:11:00 AM
Hi All,

I have created one Frame work model, and saved it.I couldnt find the .cpf file in the project folder, only the .xml, preferences, model files are there in the project folder but not the .cpf file.
When i tried to open the model file(not the .cpf file) i can open it, is there any way of generating the .cpf file from this model, Why the .cpf file is missing(no one has deleted the file), Yesterday my frame work got stuck up, so left it as it. Morning when i come to office and tried to open the .cpf file, its missing.

Please suggest us what could be reason and how can i get it back.

Thanks in Advance!
Mohan

Create a new project , but make sure to cancel from the wizard before importing objects from a datasource. All files will be created. Replace the newly created - almost empty - model.xml by the 'old' model.xml and reopen the .cpf (new version)

Is it possible to recreate a framework model from a package?
We don't have any version control and don't have a backup of the production version of the framework model (cpf file).
Is is possible to export something from "IBM Cognos Administration", for example, and import into Framework Manager?

If you can retrieve the original model.xml, then you can save the day by instructions above. AFAIK a package cannot be used for anything else than running reports against..
