Title: Administration Links in use by CognosServicer
Post by: RickC on 11 Jun 2009 09:21:02 AM
I have several Administration Links going between three Applications.  I run the Links individually at different times and each of the Links work fine.

Sometimes, and it seems to be when I have been working in CAC for a long time and running several Admin Links, I get a Cancelled Run Status.  Then, if I try to run any more Links for the rest of the day, they will cancel (even Links I ran 5 minutes ago).

Also, when I try to click on the Admin Link that originally cancelled, I get a message saying CongosServicer is working with the Link.  Would you like to take Ownership?  I say "yes" but that still does not allow me to run that Link (or any others).

I am using Planning 8.3

Any suggestions?

I think I made have found the answer to my own question.  It looks like one of the Applications had not completed its Reconcile so I re-ran a GTP.  After doing that, I ran one of the Admin Links and it worked.

Is this just a coincidence or would that be the solution?

If your links target production area of a application it's always good idea to let server finish reconcile job, regardles of what is the source of data. The same applies to dlinks from analyst.

Don't do that, and you could have even worse problems than only failing links :)
