Title: How many catalogs per Database?
Post by: lebronjames on 07 May 2009 05:46:59 PM
Hi all,
I am working on a DM project and was trying to create 2 catalogs using the same database information. This seems like a normal thing to do but it didn't work when I tried it. My DM manual then says that there can only be one catalog for every DB.

Is this true? Is there any way to get around this?

correct, it is only 1 catalog per database.

no, there is no alternative to this....why would you want more than one catalog in a database?

Has an alternative to do this. You could create another instance of a database (Oracle) or create a new database (in MS-SQL Server, for example).

I've read about create catalogs using files. It could be usefull.
