Hi friends,
I have a question:
when I run my report in excel I need to hold dowm ctrl key then only my report will open.

any idea why should i do this?

that seems to be unique in your environment. i have 8.3, and opening a report out to excel is not a problem.

You may need to add your server to the trusted/safe list in IE.

This is the pop-up blocker. I'm 99% sure.
Disable not only your browser pop-up blocker but any other third party toolbar with pop-up blocker feature. I'm not sure if adding your cognos url to the trusted sites will fix your problem but give it a try and let me know.
