Title: Analyst dlink from package - capabilities needed?
Post by: jan.herout on 17 Apr 2009 05:00:26 AM
Hello,

do you have experiences with loading data from Cognos Package via dlink into Analyst? Here is my problem:

- when running the dlink with administrator access level, the link runs
- when running the link as end user, the dlink fails and the following error is written into cogserver.log
"Current Session capablities do not allow to run specification"

The following is set
- end user DOES have traverse, execute and read set for the source package
- end user has the capability to run Query studio

What type of capability do I need to run this?

After searching the documentation, nothing relevant came out, as well as out of IBM Cognos support page.

Thank you for your expertise!

Jan

The End user needs to have a capability known as "Specific Execution". which is under connection>capabilities>Specific execution.
