Title: Cognos EP administration client setup
Post by: satay2hot on 08 Apr 2009 05:58:44 AM
Hi, I was wondering if anyone have the same problem as I am facing. When I install EP 8.3 admin client to my workstation, I change the settings in the configuration file to point at the server URL. It picks up analyst and CAC from the server and running perfectly fine. The analyst excel addin in the workstation I installed is also running fine.

However when I connect to the contributor it is a different story. The moment when I install the internet explorer contributor plugin, the analyst, the manager and the CAC stop to work.

In order to run on the same workstation, the only way to go about is to have a vmware with XP to run the contributor.

Something has screwed the setup when the contributor explorer plugin is being installed. Otherwise there must be somewhere in the configuration file we need to tweak?

Appreciate your help.

Vincent

Hi Vincent,

have you installed the Planning SP1 on the server? I had a similar problem that was caused by the SP1 not installed on the client machine but installed on the server.

If this does not solve your problem, can you post the error message you get?
