Cognos 8 content store configured with MS Access database

Is this supported by Cognos, has anyone done it (on the cheap :)

No that isn't supported. If your looking for cheap then why not use the free cognos content database (derby)

thanks again for the quick response,
can I restore the sample cognos db in access, I forgot if you get an ms access file.

I did a quick google on derby and that would work great, however," You can use Cognos Content Database as a content store or notification database, but not as a query database" so if I wanted to restore the sample db from cognos I'm sol, unless I can restore them in MS access.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

nevermind...all set with gosales.mdb file, it does exist in samples/db folder
so all I have to do is create the datasource once I have C8 up and running.

huh .. wasn't even aware there was a Access Version of the sample data.. but yes the Cognos Content Database with the biserver package. just need to make sure you select it when you're prompted for the components to install as it is deselected by default.
