I am using Report Studio and Cognos 8.3 and have a crosstab report with . I am trying to synchronize a chart with the drill down levels, but, when I drill down the chart stays on the top level info...
My Crosstab has date across the top and a Customer Drill-down on the left Axis. Sales$ is shown in the crosstab.
For the chart I want date dimension on the x-axis, and Sales as the series.
When I set it up this way, both based on the same query, the chart does not change when I drill down on the crosstab. If I put the drill-dimension (the customer type hierarchy) on the Chart y-axis then the chart DOES change as I drill but it reflects the value of the last line of the crosstab...not of the total line.
I ran into this exact same probvlem and solved it with help from Cognos help desk. The solution had to do with setting up a member set in the query, and then adjusting the drill down behavior to 'Replace' for the row hierarchy. This is a hint only...I don't remember exactly how it was set up, but I do know it is solveable!
