Title: How to set the default number of records in As to 50
Post by: mycognos on 12 Mar 2009 07:20:30 AM
Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to set the default number of records in analysis studio to 50? Currently it is 12.
I could see an option to set the number of visible item in SETTINGS tab of analysis studio, but this needs to be done each time when I open the Analysis. I am searching for an option in the administration/server level.

Thanks in advance...

Could any1 assist reg this issue:How to set the default number of records in AS to 50 from 12.
One of the temp solution is we need to create a analysis studio template within the package we are using.
This template should be saved in Public folders, such a way that default number of records need to be set us 50 instead of 12 and save it.Then whenever you need to open AS, launch AS by clicking from this template instead of picking from Launch--> Analysis studio.

But i prefer a better solution than this to solve this issue.

Thanks 4 ur cooperation.

Actually it is not properties. Just double checked.

In version 8.3/cognos connection package link:
... more -> modify package configuration - >  Default/max member limit in a data tree level

You can also select default analysis here.

I think it's also an option in the ansproperties.xml, this way it could be a system-wide setting instead of just a package settings.  It's under Default Visible Item Count.

Hi,

So I guess I should mention that it is ansproperties.xml.SAMPLE until you rename it ansproperties.xml, located in the config directory  ;)

The part that you change is two items before the bottom, open the file and search for "<!--<property>DefaultVisibleItemCount</property>".  If you search for DefaultVisibleItemCount you will also get the help stuff at the top of the file.

There is also a Cognos KB on it, #1039207.2

Keep in mind I am on 8.3, I believe this is only available in 8.3 and above.

Good luck,

Todd
