Title: Global report styles and css classes
Post by: blom0344 on 11 Mar 2009 02:41:14 AM
We recently adding a bunch of new classes to the GlobalReportStyle.css files in /bin  and / webcontent/schema directories. On our dev server these become accesible in Report Studio directly after restarting Cognos services.

I made the same changes locally on the instance on my laptop (WinXP; Cognos 8.1 MR2), but the new classes are not available from the 'local' report studio GUI. I have tried all options including fiddling with IIS , but to no avail. It looks like Cognos does not 'read' the new contents of the .css files.

Anybody any tips?

Hi,

Even I had the same problem in my laptop, but there after i found there are 2 .css files so just added the text in both files and now its working fine, check your "schemas" you could have the same problem.

Thanks,
Gollapudi.

No dice, I replaced the versions in \bin and webcontent\schema directories without having any effect (after rebooting/restarting etc)

I did much the same on a test server at the site of a client and the .css additional classes where available WITHOUT any rebooting/restarting, they where immediately available. Am at a loss what to do next..
