Title: How to display User First Name and Last Name on Cognos Connection

Hi,

This is about Cognos Connection implemented through Cognos Planning 8.4. We are using AD and everything works fine and displaying User ID on Cognos Connection adjascent to LogOff button. I still have to implement Single Sign On, but I am wondering if there is a way to display "First Name Last Name" instead of User ID from Active Directory. Are there any settings in IBM Cognos Configuration that will enable this property.

The KB suggest using an LDAP provider to achieve what you want:

with AD the login you set is the login the user has to login with. On the General tab in AD where the name is displayed as long as the field is filled in the user's name it will appear in Cognos.  If you want the users name to be the login for Cognos, edit the user account in AD appropriately and the changes will display in Cognos.
