Title: Name of file
Post by: StuartS on 11 Feb 2009 07:10:26 AM
Hello

I have a question regarding Cognos Contributor 8.1.

When you enable the client extension, export to excel, what is the name of the file that the server sends to the client machine?

Thanks

Stuart

Stuart,

Once the user selects Tools Excel and completes the wizard the file will open immediately in Excel.

The file name will most likely be Book1.

Hello

Thank you.

I mean the name of the file that Cognos sends to the client machine.  This is Cognos Planning 8.1.

Thanks

Stuart

I don't think it is a file but a built-in feature in Contributor which you only enable or disable.

You might be able to find the .cab file stuffed away inside the folders of the website (wouldn't remember where).

Also, if I remember correctly, there are some .exe's running around that will do a manual install of the extensions and these might be opened with some extract utilities (like winzip).

Either are named something like ExportToExcel*  if memory serves.
