Hi,

I am new in Cognos, I have installed BI server, I have created virtual directories in IIS.

When I create a new Metric designer project it prompts following error message:

Unable to access service at URL:

http://localhost:80/cognos8/cgi-bin/cognos.cgi?b_action=xts.run&m=portal/close.xts

Please check that your gateway URI information is configured correctly and that the service is available.

Can you please help me?

Guys,

I found solution for this error. I did not enable to run cgi in IIS, enable it follow this procedure:

1- Go to IIS server
2- look for Web service extensions
3- Click on All unknown cgi extension
4- Click on Allow

I had the same problem: when I open a new project appears to me the error message:

Following your directions nothing works the same
