Title: Deploying Dashboards??
Post by: whatever890 on 29 Jan 2009 12:23:02 PM
Hi all,

Does anyone know if there are limitations in the deployment of a dashboard portal page from one region to another?  The page seems to deploy fine but no matter what security I set, I'm getting this error:

This page cannot be displayed. It may be deleted or you may not have sufficient privileges to see it.

TIA

Hi Moonbaby

what do you mean by "deploying a dashboard portal page to another region" ? What actions do you perform and what is in the portal page ?

Basically the error means either :
1) Security isn't set for you to access it (try logging in as system admin and if the error is still there then see 2)
2) The object the portal page is referencing has been moved or deleted.

Hi Kolonell,

Thanks for your reply - I'm deploying via the Export/Import function in Cognos Administration.  The portal page contains a multipage dashboard portlet with links to other reports.  I'm logging in as an admin and have set the appropriate security on the portal page and reports.  Also, the folder structure in both regions are identical.

Everything else is importing correctly into the target region....the page appears to be there also but I'm wondering if these types of portlets dont get included in the deployment?

Thanks again!

try re-adding the page to the portal tabs. I think that the portal tab (and portlet ones) IDs are subject to some kind of random generation and are environment specific. ( full CS export/import should also move those portlets over as well)

Figured it out - apparently the report links needed to be redirected to the correct target location.

Thanks!
