Title: Prompts an their values not rendered in pdf format!!
Post by: Ricky@MDPD on 21 Nov 2008 08:17:39 AM
I have an HTML report that contain prompts on the same page as the data page. When viewing this report in PDF, the prompt and their values are not displayed.

Any idea on how to have them displayed when report is viewed in PDF??

Thanks

It is not supported in PDF.
Prompts are only for interactive mode i.e. html.

What you have to do is run the report in html, play around and when it is time to print, you can render in PDF.

It is generally not a good idea to use prompts on datapages. If you use seperate prompt pages then all is as expected (also when running in pdf)

If you want to display the choices that were made to generate the report, you might be able to use a text item's "source type" property to display them.

If you drag a text item into your report and select "report expression" as the source type on the properties page you can then define the report expression. You can then assign the parameter of the prompts which are on the page. You might have to do something with IF and ELSE if the parameter can be NULL.

I haven't tested it yet though, but it could work.
