Title: manipulating generated SQL
Post by: renevd on 20 Nov 2008 10:47:48 AM
I'm using a third party framework .
I want to use an object (a table column) in my report which is not supported by this framework.
Is there a solution for this problem? i.e. adding the column in the generated SQL or ...

I'm a novice with Cognos, so perhaps it's in the manuals, but I cant find it.
If the solution is described in any book or article, please let me know

thanks,

Rene

Rene,

You should be able to update the third party framework in Framework Manager to add the additional tables you are interested in.  Who is the OEM?

Best regards,

Dustin

Dustin,

Thanks for your answer, but for now your solution is not an option, maybe later.
Changing the framework of a third party will give me a lot of problems in the future, when they will deliver a new version of this framework.
Is there not an other way to solve my problem?

I dropped my question at the Framework supplier, but I guess there will be more objects I' ll gonna miss. And I don't expect that they deliver a new framework every week.

For now I don't want to mention the name of the OEM in public.

Best regards,

René
