Title: Urgent - Active Directory Migration from Series 7
Post by: sreevathi on 03 Nov 2008 09:50:01 AM
Hello,
We are doing a organisational migration to Active directory .Previously, we had a cognos userclass created through series 7. Active directory user groups have been created and the mapping of the Series 7 user class needs to be performed. Necessary configurations were done on both the app server and the web server.
When i logon to Cognos URL , i should be seeing AD,Series 7 and Cognos all enabled together so that i can map the projects to the corresponding user groups in AD.But, i see only the series 7 and Cognos link enabled or if use the Ad gateway, i see only the AD and Cognos link enabled. In this case,i am not able to see the projects in the public folders at all.
Could anyone tell me the steps so that i have both AD and series 7 link enabled under Tools->Directory .

Thanks in Advance

The reason this link stays inactive is because you haven't logged into the AD namespace. A namespace can only be accessed through the directory tool if you are logged in to it as it queries your Directory server for all the needed information.

Not sure but I don't think mapping your S7 users into AD that way will help as it will require your end users to log in twice if you want the mapping to work. Once for S7 and once for AD.
