Title: calculating total taking one value from each month

I know this is simple but I am having little tuff time

I have to calculating yearly value by taking just one value form each month
I have start date and end date for promp page

I have one TAX value is always there for each month.
So i need to show yearly total vlaue of TAX (ex 12*50=600)

Set grain of query to monthly and apply a min/max for the measure. However, do you need control over the value that is returned for each month.
Hard to advise without having a notion of the data you are working with..

How do you set a grain of a query to monthly?

Is it putting a [month] data item in the query and displaying month with the other data items on the List?
