Title: Managing ad hoc reports
Post by: rogersm on 29 Jul 2005 04:19:27 AM
Hi, I'm a newbie to ReportNet so still getting my head around it.Ã,  I'm generally happy with the functionality that I've seen so far but I'm can't see how to manage ad hoc reports within ReportNet.

I know that you can use Schedule Management to Cancel/Suspend/Release scheduled reports from the Activity pane which is great but most of my users run their reports as and when they need them and these reports don't appear in Schedule Management.

In IWR you could check the report queues and identify a report process ID and kill that if necessary but this doesn't seem possible in ReportNet.Ã,  I can't believe there isn't some way of doing this though since it's a fairly critical thing to be able to do in an operational system - sometimes you just need to kill a troublesome report without stopping the entire service and killing all other user reports.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

This feature has been requested by many. Maybe it will be put in some next release. I haven't found a way to do it in SDK yet, but maybe it could be done.

Thanks Darek - guess I'll just have to wait then, appreciate the reply though.
