This morning we got this error ('CAM_AAA_Authenticate' failed. Reason...)when we open cognos connection page from production server, cognos 8.3
Any one knows the reason for this? I have gone through different communities to help, but the ultimate solution I found is only restart the server. Any solution other than this if happens next time?

Enabling TRACE in cognos will help you understand the issue more clearly. Did I answer the same question in Admin section : :)))

We saw the same thing. turns out that during periods of inactivity Cognos 8 will get this error and fill up the server memory and crash the server or processes.
There is a fix in SP3.
Our temp solution is to restart the servers on daily basis. We've had Cognos development create several different types of log captures but have yet to find an actual problem...

This same thing happens to me from time to time, no idea why. I always just restart Cognos and it fixes it...
What is the reason code?
Can you give me the details please.
