Title: using excel as a data soucre in cognos

Hi everybody

                    is there any way of using excel as a data soucre in cognos..if it is please reply me...It will be really appreciated

Create an odbc connection to the file and add this connection as a datasource.

Hi

Yes we can use Excel database as datasource in cognos
1)cretate a Xsl Sheet with specified range into it.
range it is nothig but select ur whole data column with data in that EXCEl and go to Insert--->Name--->Define
select the whole data and give name to that range and say Add thats it..
2)Next step is to create ODBC of that Excel sheet .
3)Import that ODBC into FM(Framework Manager) model as data source.
