Title: Passing parameters to scheduled reports
Post by: wyconian on 27 May 2008 08:05:18 AM
Hi everyone

I've been asked to look at passing a list of parmeters to reports when they are scheduled.  In the old world I would have used cognos script editor to run macro to do this.  Can I/Should I still use the macro editor to pass parameters to prompts in report studio?  Or is there a better way of doing it?

As always thanks for your help.

Assuming things still work the same as Reportnet...
Create a view of the report (one for each different set of parameters you want to run with), then in the view properties you provide the prompt responses and turn off the box that says "prompt for values".  The responses are saved as part of the view and used when the report is scheduled.

Of course, obvious when you think about it.  Thanks for your help.
