hi there,

how to use XML files..? for example if somebody sends xml file to demostrate or to give an exmple for certain reports. Do we have to export them to our current cognos 8 environment..not sure abt how to use it....your help is much appreciated

Hi Friend,

Open that select all and copy and open cognos Report studio and in tools we have the option open the data from clipboard .Then it will open the data in cognos studio.

Jahnavi's answer is for a Report Spec.

If your XML files are for a source of data, you will need to setup a data source in Cognos connection, that points to the location of the XML file. You will then need to model this datasource like you would any other in Cognos 8 before you can report off of it.
